Bio: I am a mom to three boys and a girl ages 7,5,3, and 1. I am also a teacher certified in grades K-12 with specializations in English. I graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in English and from Johns Hopkins with an M.A.T. in Education (grades 1-8). I have taught grades preK-8 and some volunteer teaching at the high school level. I have also had experience homeschooling our children at various stages of their development. I began my career 10 years ago as a member of Teach for America. I started teaching in inner city Baltimore, then moved to Flatbush, Brooklyn, and then to a charter school in Newark, NJ. My most recent, and longest teaching position was as a 7th grade English teacher in a suburb in Monmouth County, NJ. I recently resigned from that position due to relocating my family in search of better educational opportunity and lifestyle in southern NJ. My goal with this blog is to unite and inspire people to work towards a better education system in America. Our children are depending on us to foster change so that they can inherit a more positive, healthy, and educated America.
